Keep Music Free – Pay For it!

So I finally bit the bullet and did the thing that I’ve naturally avoided ever since the glory days of Audio Galaxy allowed me to indiscriminately devour music by the bucket load with no fear of consequence or moral qualms (a bit like sex in your twenties and food in your thirties): I’ve signed up for a premium subscription music service. Spotify Premium costs £10 per month and for that extortionate sum (0.3287p per day) I basically have a music library of several million high quality tracks to enjoy at my leisure. I can broadcast them over my amp (thanks to Airfoil and Apple Airport Express), listen to them offline and – best of all – download them to my…

Social media seminar: tonight!

We’re holding a social medial seminar tonight. From twentysix we’ve got Rachel Clarke, Head of Social Media, giving a presentation with lots of nice pictures and a couple of good graphs. Possibly the toughest FD in digital?

He’s far too modest to talk about it but twentysix FD James Saville completed the Paras’ 10 at the weekend. It’s billed as “The Ultimate 10 Mile Endurance Race” (so slightly tougher than the NABS 5K run last week). For those reading this that don’t know him, here are just a few facts about the toughest FD in digital… 1. Apple pays James Saville 99p every time he listens to a song. 4. James Saville can sneeze with his eyes open. 5. James Saville can…

Team twentysix runs the NABS 5k

We fielded a crack unit of digital specialists to “compete” in the NABS 5K run around Regent’s Park last night. And rather surprised ourselves. Not only did we all finish (without the need of medical assistance) but we were all able to complete the course with relatively respectable times. Our next challenge is a 10K Marine Assault Course in October (where our Finance Director will be able to give his scandalous lycra yet another outing). Well done to all and thanks to NABS for organising.

Twitter, Facebook and the gender divide

I’m a massive sucker for graphs, infothetics and that sort of stuff and recently saw the above on the excellent Information is Beautiful blog. What do you think? At first I was pretty surprised at the big split between the number of female and male twitterers (the only females that follow me on Twitter want me to take a look at their “XXXHOT pics”). But with Facebook the divide is even more pronounced –  last month Inside Facebook reported that, in the US, the female/male ratio on the site has now hit an all time high, with ladies outnumbering blokes 1.35 to 1, with twice as many women joining Facebook in the last month than men. I wonder why? Is…
