We’ve developed a glossary of terms for mobile web development, so you need never feel tongue-tied again.  If you need to know the difference between an LBS and an MMS, a 3GS and a GPS, this is the place to look. It should work on any platform, and is optimised for mobile browsing, it even works without an internet connection (provided you’ve visited it at least once before). So far there has been good news; in that it’s now up to the browsers to ensure users have the option to opt out of cookie tracking.

But for once I do applaud Microsoft. As someone who is just so excited by where the internet, our browsing experience, and technology will go in the immediate years I want people to upgrade their browsers! I want people to be able to experience the web as we envision it.

For one of TV’s most popular shows, setting a technology challenge like this could have confused and confounded the contestants, and the audience. That the concept was taken in stride as easily as last week’s Fruit and Veg special, only shows how big a part of our lives apps and smartphones have become.

Mobile phone technology plays an ever-increasing role in the way we interact with the world.  Smartphones now represent over a third of the mobile market, so forward thinking charities are taking advantage of this new opportunity to get their message across.  Through mobile media, charities are connecting with younger and more affluent donors in their space, and using their language to communicate.
